the Windsor Street Staff

Meet Chef Gaby

At the heart of Windsor Street Montessori lies a journey that began with a single, profound experience—a young child who had just arrived in a new country, sitting before a tray of colorless, processed food, feeling unseen, unheard, and alone.

This moment of vulnerability for our Executive Director, Chef Gaby, ignited a passionate commitment within her to ensure that no child would ever feel the isolation that she felt again.

Chef Gaby's belief that "there is always a place for you at the table" reflects not only our inclusive culture but also our innovative educational approach.

Her culinary expertise and empathetic educational approach not only teaches children about the world; but shows them how they can live in it, respect it, and contribute to it in meaningful ways.

Meet the Team

  • I studied at the Central University of Venezuela and have a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. I have worked with children of different ages, backgrounds, and languages since 2018. I am currently completing the Lower Elementary Montessori program at CGMS (The Center for Montessori Studies). I have certifications in First Aid, TEFL, Early Childhood Development: Global Strategies for Implementation, and Project Management for Development.

When I came to Windsor Street Montessori School, I was very inspired by how this philosophy approaches the individual needs of children and creates a curriculum that interconnects disciplines and allows students to explore their interests while learning about the environment around them, developing the capacity for self-discipline and self-discovery. It is a beautiful way to start the first years of school and plant the seed of curiosity and imagination for the future.

Windsor Street's vision is serious and professional. The school is deeply committed to serving the educational and emotional needs of the students. Every child in this school is listened to and valued, and that is very important for a growing child.

All the staff members support each other and value the communication spaces that our school offers.

I love how mindful Windsor Street is regarding food. Before working here, I was unaware of how valuable it is to know where food comes from. I love seeing how children are free to experiment and try new flavors and textures without punishment or negative connotations. I feel very lucky to have comfort food every day; it lifts my spirits and motivates me to continue working with children.

My dreams with Windsor Street are to grow the community, expand our programs, and create an inclusive environment where students from different backgrounds can come and be part of a community that values personal growth and appreciates the environment and relationships with others.

  • I graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012. After years of working in hospitality and co-owning a business, I toured the Windsor Street Montessori classrooms and decided right then that Montessori was for me.

I quickly accepted an assistant teacher position in March 2020 and began training through The Center of Guide Montessori Studies, completing my Early Childhood Education Certification in 2022.

Windsor Street Montessori has been my home for the past four years, offering me a space to learn and grow alongside the children. The supportive staff and families create a community of love and respect for everyone. We do not just care for the child but the whole family, creating lasting connections and community.

My passion for Montessori grows with every child who finds their love of learning.

Our food-forward Montessori School allows children to make personal connections from seed to plate, providing them with practical life skills such as gardening and meal preparation to share with their community.

  • My name is Morgan Delerme or Ms. Morgan! I’m originally from Orlando, Florida, and I am entering my fourth year of school at the University of Missouri, where I study English and History. I have been working in childcare since 2019, and I am excited to develop my knowledge of Montessori schooling.

In my class, we will focus on practical life and self-care, teaching children independence and personal responsibility while laying the groundwork for our Montessori program.

Our food-forward program will allow students to experience new, non-processed foods and find their voice when it comes to the food they enjoy. This program has given me the language and knowledge to think of food in a neutral context while choosing new foods and combinations daily.

I enjoy working at Windsor Street Montessori School because it is a highly welcoming environment that creates community. This family keeps me smiling and excited to come back every day!

  • I was born in Venezuela and came to Columbia in 2019. I have liked to paint and draw since I can remember. I attended a ceramics workshop from the age of nine until I finished high school, then I studied Fine Arts at the Central University of Venezuela and I finished a Master's Degree in painting at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea.

I have dedicated my whole life to painting. And whether in Caracas, Seoul or Columbia, there has always been a space in my studio to work with children, either teaching ceramics classes or children's creativity workshops. I'm excited to bring my expertise and enthusiasm to Windsor Street Montessori and inspire our young artists to explore their creativity.

  • I am a graduating senior at Mizzou pursuing a degree in environmental education. I was drawn to Montessori education because of the principles of respect for individuality and autonomy.

I am constantly impressed with the students and how they flourish when given the chance to try. It's great to see new students join the school and learn the Montessori way as they become more independent daily.

My favorite thing about working with students is looking at the world through the children's eyes; they inspire me to be more curious and open-minded.

As someone who studies sustainability, it brings me great joy that Windsor Street puts so much effort into teaching, practicing, and modeling a sustainable lifestyle. Working at a food-forward school gives me hope that our students and community will continue to work together toward a more sustainable future.
