Spirit Day at Windsor Street Montessori has become a rain-or-shine annual event–and this year brought spring showers throughout the morning. But just as we were scheduled to begin, the skies cleared–as if on cue–so we could run and celebrate outside.

To celebrate the end of the year and in honor of another year of the Go! Windsor marathon of running, reading, and doing good deeds, the Parent Organization gave WSMS string backpacks to each student. And then family members and teachers spread out along the path and at the finish line to cheer the WSMS runners on as they circled Lions-Stephens Park.

After the final laps of the Go! Windsor marathon and before our traditional end-of-year picnic lunch, WSMS students shared a brief music performance. “We Give Thanks” is the traditional song our Montessori kids and many others sing before sharing lunch together every day.

The Upper and Lower Elementary students together sang another classic–and a regular at WSMS spring events–“This Land Is Your Land.”

The Little Green Building class shared one other new song they’ve been learning, too.
