Lower Elementary News

This week has been jam packed.  1/2 the class went to Mary’s farm again to explore the creek. We caught lots of critters and had a wonderful time. We climbed rocks, looked at fossils, played all manner of imaginative games, and just soaked up the peace and beauty of the changing season.  We even saw some very large fish (allegedly 2ft long)!

This week also included the much anticipated book fair and Chili Supper. Despite the crazy rain, we had excellent attendance and lots of delicious food.  We also had our first tornado drill this Thursday.  Luckily the book fair was set up in our emergency shelter (basement) so we had plenty to do. A big thank you to everyone who helped clean-up, set-up, and or brought food. Also thank you Kristen (and helpers) for another successful book fair.

Our lessons this week included The Solar System, parts of a spider, Homonyms, South American flags, drawings of our creek trips, Verb Grammar box, Cinquain poetry, and many more.
