Math – Jimmy & Grant

Recently, we have started a new unit on angles.  We have studied types, measuring, and finding angles.  We have also been working on mean, median and mode.  Statistics are one of the most important subjects in math, so it has been a huge part of our curriculum.  We are still doing division and division flashcards every day.

 

Language – Keira & Ella

This  January in language, we have been working with grammar. The fourth years have been working on the types of conjunctions.The Sixth and Fifth years have been working on limiting adjectives;  recently we have been doing book clubs and Radio days.

 

history and science – Paterson & Jacob

 

For our radio days projects we researched  1930-194, we typed up our scripts and we recorded an episode of our radio drama  After recording, we presented our finale to the class.
Recently, in science we started a biomes project and we had a lovely rock and minerals presentation, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Wright (Tomas and Nicolas’s grandparents).  We also finished and presented our Alternative Energy Research Projects.

 Music and spanish – Ben and Lushen

In music, we have been tasked with creating a commercial. It should have a catchy “Jingle”, and should look professional. The class split into two groups , one group advertising a fictional sporting goods store, the other a software firm. Another assignment is to bring a favorite song, play it for the class, and discuss certain aspects of the song. In spanish, We have been learning vocabulary related to parts of the body.
